What's a bookazine, you ask? I had the same question.
According to the editor-in-chief, "A bookazine is a combination magazine/book that's sold like a magazine -- on newsstands and in the magazine section at bookstores -- but is designed to be kept, like a book."
It goes on sale today, March 27. It will most likely disappear after Mother's Day. I found it displayed among the magazines at our local Hy-Vee grocery store.
Because my mom passed away last year, this honor feels extra special.
I think about my mom every day. I can imagine her complete surprise and disbelief that a story written about her is available in bookstores and other locations across the country. I know she's smiling.
I'm smiling, too.
