A great mystery in Room 4 has been solved!
Someone has the tendency to change the temperature settings in our mini fridge. This has been going on for years. I know that it is Isaac because it has been happening since my first year of teaching, and there are only two people who have been in Room 4 every year since I took over. I don't change the settings so it has to be Isaac.
Every time I notice it, I ask Isaac and he denies changing the setting.
Today, the ice in our mini fridge was starting to thaw, so I again asked Isaac if he messed with the temperature. He said yes! I could not believe it!
I asked him why and he said, "Water," and held up his water bottle. His water was getting too cold! I was so happy to have Isaac finally answer truthfully and give me a reason why he changed the setting.

My response:
Hi Andrew,
True confessions! This is hilarious! Who wants water that's too cold?
He used to do this stuff all the time. Once my in-laws had their eggs frozen solid in the fridge after Isaac had been there.
Glad you figured it out! Ha! He never messes with our fridge controls.

When Isaac got home, I asked him about turning down the fridge temperature at school. He said he did it. I'm sure he did not feel guilty. I asked if his water was too cold, and he said, "Yes!" After a brief discussion, he refused to talk about it again.
What I forgot to mention to Andrew is that Isaac messed with our deep freeze when he was much younger. Years ago, when I opened the freezer and found water dripping and a bendable frozen pizza, I knew Isaac had changed the temperature controls, located on the bottom of the freezer.
Luckily, I was able to fix it with an old plastic carryout Chinese food container and duct tape. It doesn't look pretty, but our freezer controls haven't moved in at least a decade.
