After I paid, she thanked us. He looked her direction and very quietly said, "Have a good day please!" as he headed for the exit. She giggled a bit in response, but I'm sure she had no idea what he said.
Normally I would have interpreted for her, but I wasn't sure what I had heard. Later I confirmed with him when we were in the van. Yep, that's exactly what he said. I'm sure he felt safe talking to her because she was so nice and helpful. I believe she's helped us before, too, and I'm sure he remembered her.
Isaac brings a lot of joy to people, even when they don't understand his words. But I think when people -- even strangers -- are receptive to him and willing to listen, his intentions become clear. He just wanted to spread some sunshine today.
