For a number of reasons this summer, we changed the schedule. Kaylee will continue to work on Sundays, but now she's working at a different time. This change of plans is in effect for seven weeks.
Isaac studies my planner. I think he has it memorized because he notices when I cross something off or add something new.
I told him about the change in plans. I told him what was going to happen. He was upset. He told me he wanted to be with Dad during that time.
Sorry, buddy.
When I looked at my planner the following day, I was surprised to see that he had written his displeasure on every Sunday. Every single one!
When Kaylee came to our house Sunday, Isaac was fine. I knew he would be. He was happy to see her, and he acted like everything was cool.
I texted her photos of my planner. We laughed a bit about his words on my planner, written in defiance. Change is hard. Everything was okay, but initially he wasn't happy.
He just had to let me know.
