It's easier if Henry surrenders and allows him to dump the water, but I understand that's not always easy to do because after a while, the whole thing is annoying. Besides, Henry is often thirsty and likely dehydrated after weeks of this routine.
I told Isaac we were leaving at 3:00 today to do a few errands, but he was truly paralyzed because he needed to dump Henry's water bottle first before he would get in the van.
"I'm leaving right now!" I said, as I left the house. I don't mess around, and he knows I won't wait. He wanted to go, so he wasn't too far behind me. I heard some yelling as I exited.
As I told someone earlier this week, I try to be a good mom, but I understand how frustrated parents can throw their hands into the air, get addicted to substances, run away from home, or assume a new identity.
Isaac immediately typed out some words on his iPad. I gotta say, I love a guy who knows how to use an exclamation mark.
He verbalized his worries about July 4th and work. Nothing changes for his schedule whatsoever except that the coffee shop closes at 3 pm, which made him teary.
We pulled into the Kohl's parking lot with our Amazon return. He had been rubbing my right shoulder to make me feel better, and I had grabbed a tissue for his few tears. What a mess we are sometimes.
Then he typed another message on his iPad, which was basically the same message he always gives Henry, but this time he used his manners.
I asked if we could take a picture. He agreed, which is becoming more rare these days.
We looked at the camera and smiled. And I had to laugh because I look a little defeated and tired, but Isaac looks like a guy who knows how to stir up a little trouble while having fun.
